Hi Andrew, I'm not sure if I can adequately address all of your concerns, but I may be able to clear up some confusion.
For the last several months the team at Belkin/Linksys has been working on creating a version of OpenWrt that will run on our WRT1900AC router. We have submitted our code patches to the OpenWrt mailing list and are awaiting approval. Once that process is complete users will be able to build a firmware that can be directly flashed onto the WRT1900AC. Until that time, the code changes have been posted to the mailing list, and users are able to access those, and create a firmware image while the approval process completes. I am sorry for any confusion, and we hope to have our code changes accepted soon.
