You have most likely autoconnect enabled. In this case you can't use qmi
as protocol, but dhcp with ifname wwan0 (in this case you can't set
operating modes etc.).
To disable autoconnect, use

uqmi -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --stop-network 4294967295 --autoconnect
}}}
Then you can use qmi as protocol.
