#19499: x86 & x86_64 kernel configs lack functional configuration

---------------------+------------------------
x86 (486) kernel configuration lacks the configuration needed to get a
functional system on a generic x86 machine. IDE, ext4, AHCI and virtio
aren't included in the kernel configuration by default (no SMP, no good
defaults). 3.18 has a config which is broken.

x86_64 prompts for manual kernel configuration updates using oldconfig
during build. The kernel config for 3.18 x86_64 is for an x86 kernel, not
x86_64. resulting system doesn't boot, not even after adjusting kernel
 configuration using make kernel_menuconfig.

OpenWRT works on MIPS router hardware, but the x86 configs are broken.
 Why?
