#19669: TP-1043ND - WiFi slow speed + 40MhZ not working

My router TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v1.x running latest available stable,
Barrier Breaker 14.07 / LuCI Trunk (0.12+svn-r10530) is having slow
wireless LAN (Wifi) speeds at ~14-18Mbps download/upload, since June 2014.
Before that date, it had Wifi speeds of 40-50Mbps download.
Also the 40MhZ feature doesnt work, as it is displayed 20MhZ besides all
clients in LuCI.

I always configure WiFi with LuCI's Interface. But I've tried some
different settings in the file, reported on the ticket-portal or forum,
without success.
