It isn't strange. VDSL is (near to?) everywhere Annex B. Italy uses Annex
A for ADSL.

Hear we go. Netifd - the OpenWrt networking daemon - seams to be your
problem. Especially since your pppoe-wan interface is still up and usable
(I assume the ppp process still runs).
I'm out of ideas. But nbd, the author of netifd btw., is your man.
