hi. someone just handed me a WRT54GL on which to install openwrt
8.09, and it's possible there's an older version on it already, i
haven't had a chance to check yet. so, a couple questions:
1) if it still has the stock linksys firmware, is it still necessary
to install the 2.4 build on it first to get access to the nvram
commands before then installing the 2.6 build? the online docs seem
pretty adamant about that but it's said that for a long time, i'm
curious if that's still the case.
2) what's the situation with wireless on the WRT54GL these days? i
read that 8.09.1 is coming out in a couple days, does that change
anything?
3) not really a WRT54GL question, but are there any hot new routers
out there for which openwrt has been fully ported recently?
particularly routers with at least one USB 2.0 port? thanks
rday
