IIRC, to work with PIM, all the routers of the network (at least on a
path between the sender and the receiver) must support PIM. If one
does not, it will not forward the multicast data. Maybe adding
manually the multicast routes with smcroute may help, but I've worked
on all this a long time ago and I don't quite remember every detail.
