I have a 601-A1 and from what I understand, the initial "Factory" image is 
slightly different, but after that, the images are the same. I am using the 4 
Sep squashfs "sysupgrade" image [1] for the 601 and it has been very solid so 
far.

I havent tried jffs on my 601 so I couldn't say if it works or not. It has a 
fairly robust emergency boot system, so it should be hard to brick even if jffs 
doesn't work as expected.

I know that using the 601 image [1], it shows my hardware as being a 600. Not 
sure if this is expected or not, but there is a ticket open on the subject [2]
