Can anybody comment on the suitability of OpenWRT for building an ad-hoc mesh amongst residents of apartment buildings or student accommodation?
In particular, I was anticipating: - use of routers with dual radio or multiple SSID support so that each user can have a private WLAN served by the same router that is joined to the mesh - using quality consumer grade routers (e.g. TP Link or Buffalo) without external antennas due to the close proximity of users
