Hi,
actually ftrace on MIPS32 seems to be broken. see
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel/1420616
You could try with an older kernel, i managed to use ftrace with
linux 3.0 building modules as static.

Hi,
yes, but this patch (https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/1993791/) as
well as this one
(http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1205.0/00794.html)
should get it working again, the kernel doesn't hang on boot anymore.
They are already included in the latest trunk.
And like I said, the tracing folder in debugfs is there, so that seems
to be fixed. But still nothing seems to be traced.
Also we tried both MIPS and x86 and had the same problem both times.
So you successfully traced with ftrace in openWrt? What release did
you use?
Regards,
Signe
