My wdr4300 is 2 years old, no problems. I have not heard complaints from my
friends wdr4300, nor from the wr2543nd owner. My netgear wndr3700 and
trendnet tew652brp are also fine. The only problems I've had with WiFi were
on my wrt54gs or ISP gateway.

Atheros based: No issues ever. (Unless you count the 4 months where nbd
broke connections with Intel clients, we try not to talk about that :P)
Broadcom based: I want to cry.
