For me there is some confusion about kmods and the standard ‘menuconfig’ setup.
When I select the ‘*’ on the configuration menu, it has been my understanding that the module ends up in the built root file system under ‘/lib/modules/LINXVERSIONTAG/*.ko’. And for many kmods that seems to work. However, I’ve been having problems with any of the USB modules, were they all are found in bin/mpc85xx/packages/kmod…ilk But they are not found in the root file system. How do I set things up so that the ‘*.ko’ associated with the USB are installed in the ‘/lib/modules/…’ path without having to ‘unpack/install’ via the ipk files?
