Indeed so!  Thank you, I have gained access to my free router again!

1. Open WICD
2. Click on Properties
3. Check: Use Static IPs
4. Enter these values:

        IP: 192.168.0.234
   Netmask: 255.255.255.0
   Gateway: 192.168.0.1

5. Click: OK
6. Reconnect

I have added these to new ethernet profile in WICD called OpenWrt.
