Hi, On Feb 24 Julia has committed both patches to the main svn repository. Rev. 1590 and Rev. 1591. They can not violate operation of the rest of the code, that is the code related and unrelated to utf-8, related and unrelated to perl-5.14. So it seemed it is correct to commit them exactly to the main svn repository.
