As you might have noticed, the IM Observatory site at xmpp.net is down. The machine on which it is hosted (apollo.jabber.org) has serious disk problems.

As a short-term workaround, the xmpp.net team (mostly me and Thijs) is working to move the site to a virtual host that is used for other XMPP/Jabber sites.

As a long-term solution, I am thinking that we might want to mirror this service. In essence it is an automatically generated website that pulls from github for the vCards and uses code that Thijs has written to run the service verifications. That's a valuable public service so perhaps it is best to mirror it.
