I would like to know the thoughts of the Opsview team on the latest
happenings around Nagios and the new fork announced by Icinga?
Is Opsview going to stick with Nagios?
Obviously we're watching the situation with keen interest.
The recent public fork and ensuing debate has raised potential
concerns about the health of the Nagios project. Ton Voon, our Opsview
architect, is now officially part of the Nagios development team. To
help out, we have provided more direct support to the Nagios project
by committing changes from our code base into the central Nagios code
repository. We see this is a mutually beneficial arrangement as we get
our changes incorporated into future versions while all Nagios users
get the benefit of bug fixes and enhancements.
More information on Ton's involvement:

Rest assured, if in the future we planned to move away from Nagios we
would open a dialog with the community first and then put a clear
roadmap in place for the transition.
What does everyone else think about think about the fork?
FYI: There was an earlier, admittedly brief mailing list post on this
subject: http://lists.opsview.org/lurker/message/20090506.111900.2baa431c.en.html
