Restrictions
Slaves servers currently must have the same architecture and OS
build as the master server (including prerequisite software)
My questions are;
1.) Why? :)
We send the binaries from the master to all slaves at upgrade time.
This is vital because we may introduce new functionality in Nagios, so
configurations would be invalid if we pushed new configurations out
without knowing that slaves have been upgraded.
Anything that is arch specific (binaries, some arch specific perl
libraries) will be affected.
2.) Will this always be the case?
For the foreseeable future, yes.
3.) Is there any workaround for this restriction, even if such
workaround is not exactly ideal?
You can always just try :)
What are you trying to do?
