Ok apparently there was ONE wrong character in a config file, typical.
Anyway, my SNMP Trap exceptions list is stuffed with traps now, even though I
added a few rules that should match a bunch of them. He seems to have problems
loading the MIBs. How can you add MIBs to Opsview (specifically
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.11256.1.6.1 in case its useful)? I read they go in
/usr/local/nagios/snmp/load but what format do they have to be in etc..

Thanks,
Ilse

This is what I have in my /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf:

traphandle default /usr/local/nagios/bin/snmptrap2nagios
disableAuthorization yes

In addition to that, check if there are any exceptions in Opsview web interface
-> Configuration -> SNMP traps -> SNMP trap exceptions

Hey,

Thanks for the idea, but it still doesn't listen on port 162. Is that the only
line needed in that file btw?

Hi, I am running Centos as well. I checked the file /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf
and it seems it doesn't belong to any package. Therefore, you need to create it
by hand and enter the information as specified in Opsview guide.

Subject: [opsview-users] SNMP Trap setup

Hello,

I am trying to setup a few SNMP Traps for our firewall, problem is that Opsview
doesn't appear to be receiving them even though the firewall is sending them. I
followed this guide
http://docs.opsview.org/doku.php?id=opsview3.6:snmptrapsetup, but there is no
/etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf file, and I can't seem to find any other guides.
Current machine runs on CentOS 5. Does anyone know what steps I have to follow
to make it work?

Thank you in advance,

Ilse
