I'm using the v3.7.0 virtual appliance. It's running on VMware ESX
(vSphere 4.0).

I added my first host, a Cisco 6500 multilayer switch. I selected 3 host
templates: Network-Base, Network-Cisco, and SNMP-Cisco. Monitoring took
place, and I was given a warning about memory utilization, but there
were no graphs.

It was not until I went into the Host Configuration / Service Monitors
and selected (checked) the 2 Network-Cisco services and did a Reload
that the graphs in the Service Status page appeared. Having selected the
Network-Cisco template I would not think that I would have to go into
Services and select those Services individually.

1) Is this normal?

2) If so, what is the purpose of the templates?

3) What should I have done?

In my previous work with Nagios it used a simple ping as a "host check"
while any other check was a "service check." Did I mix these up here in
Opsview? I don't see the distinction in this configuration interface.

Thanks
