you could then tweak the arguments slightly with exceptions as opposed
to creating multiple "static" checks.

Can you enlighten us with some previewed use cases?
I'm imagining that you could define an attribute named "mountpoint" for
service check "check disk", then define mountpoint "/", "/var",
"/var/log" for a host, and that would automatically monitor your
partitions. ¿am I right?
If so... Will I then be able to create a service check "check network"
bound to "interface" attribute, and then have a host with interfaces
attribute "eth0", "eth1", "eth2"?
Will the result for the host then be that you monitor all partitions and
all network interfaces?
