This position is listed as an “intermediate level role” but they are
willing to accept more senior level candidates.  PLEASE ensure to submit at

Major Responsibilities:
·       Acts as a front line interface to users
·       Analyze current environment and make suggestions for improvement
·       Responds quickly to monitoring system alerts and incoming tickets
·       Deploy and maintain Linux VM’s running in ESX
·       Creates and maintains new NFS/CIFS shares and iSCSI LUNS
·       Install/upgrade hardware and Unix/Linux operating systems and
applications
·       Virtualization of current Unix/Linux environments
·       Participates in planning and purchasing process
·       On call responsibility to support 24x7x365 production environment.

Required skills:
·       High skill with most Red Hat, Fedora, and/or other Linux
administration commands and utilities
·       Experience with building and configuring Apache HTTPD and Apache
Tomcat
·       Configuration and understanding of NIS, FreeIPA, DNS(BIND), DHCPD
·       Familiarity with automated configuration systems such as CFEngine
or Puppet
·       Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare,
HyperV and/or Zen.
·       Experience in configuring monitoring software such as Nagios/
WhatsUp Gold/ Zenoss
·       Ability to define, document, and perform system maintenance and
diagnostic procedures.
·       Strong ability to communicate (oral and written communication) and
knowledge of business writing skills

Desired skills:
·       Experience with installation/maintenance/backup of Oracle, MySQL,
PostgreSQL
·       Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Perl, Tk,
Bourne shell, etc.)
·       Knowledge of Enterprise storage systems and replication
technologies including NetApp, Nimble, EMC, and EqualLogic
·       Experience with Enterprise backup solutions and software
(NetBackup, CommVault)
·       Experience performing simple administration tasks on Cisco network
equipment (VLAN changes, Shutdown port, view bridge table, view arp table,
etc)
·       Assist in creation and deployment of disaster recovery & business
continuity plans

*Educational Background:*
·Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer
information technology, management information systems, computer
programming, computer science or related field.
