POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position will maintain the enterprise software applications that
support the company's business needs. The PowerBuilder Application
Developer must have a 5+ years of experience in developing PowerBuilder
applications using a SQL Server database in a Microsoft Windows
client/server environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Code developing, debugging, and testing.
* Communicate effectively with internal IT units and end users.
* Perform developer mentoring and code reviews as needed.
* Gather and analyze functional requirements.
* Monitor to ensure consistent code quality and productivity.
* Work towards timely delivery of product and updates.
* Work with peers to improve the development and delivery process.
* Keep abreast of current technology and software development
trends and practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATONS:
* 5+ years experience developing application software in the in the
PowerBuilder platform (up through v11.5) for the Microsoft windows
environment.
* Solid knowledge of SQL 2005+ development including T-SQL queries,
triggers, and stored procedures.
* Excellent grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle with a
successful track record of delivering high quality software in a timely
manner.
* Knowledge of software engineering industry standards, best
practices, productivity measurements and development tools.
* Practicing knowledge of Agile development processes.
* Experience using sound source control methodologies and tools.
* Knowledge of the .NET/C# platform a plus.
* Experience in the Airline industry a plus.
* Demonstrate honesty, integrity and respect for others, a
willingness to be flexible and open to change.
* Be willing and able to interface with users on a laymen level.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
