Job Title: Project Manager Location:Chicago, IL Duration: 3 month Contract to Hire No H1B Project Overview: Oversee the overall coordination, status reporting, and the stability of complex and cross-functional project-orient work efforts. Responsibilities: Establish and implement the project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, as well as adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. Track the key project milestones, adjusting the project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of the customers. Identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Provide clear direction, coaching, and support to the staff. Managed the day-to-day activities of the projects and staff in a matrixed environment. Handled the physical, financial, and human capital resources, considering the budget and cost implications, as well as the risk implications of project decisions. Implement, use, and refine the standard project management practices and tools necessary to manage projects during execution, which includes risks, issues, and changes. Technical Required Skills: 7+ years of IT work experience, including 4+ years of progressive responsibility, managing multiple small to large complex projects in a cross-functional environment. Experience managing software development projects, including the strategic application of the technical platform (COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ, Vitria, J2EE, WebSphere, Oracle, and Cognos) to meet the business objectives. Extensive knowledge in the use of project management methodologies, iterative development methodologies (preferably RUP), and tools. Advanced analytical skills essential. Experience with resource estimations methodologies, risk management, budget management, and demand management. Health insurance industry background. Understanding of HR policies and practices, as well as change management techniques. Soft Skills: Strong team oriented interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to develop and maintain key relationships to achieve business objectives essential. Demonstrated ability to build consensus for business results.
