Position: Project Manager

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Duration: 18 Months

Rate: DOE

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The project manger will perform project initiation, project communication, 
allocation of available resources, project tracking and scheduling, resolving 
escalating issues and reporting status to the project director. He/She will 
also be responsible for managing the project processes, creating a project 
plan, and project execution including establishing a control process, and 
working within project constraints.  The following is a further description of 
the PM tasks and the responsibilities:

 

*       Produce a project plan to ensure successful delivery and stakeholder 
satisfaction
*       Estimate and schedule task work and produce project timeline
*       Implement risk management techniques and mitigation strategies
*       Implement monitoring tools and controls to keep the project in healthy 
progress
*       Prepare regular project status updates that include updated budgets, 
plans, issues lists and status reports.  Status for all assigned projects is 
then consolidated and presented to directors on a weekly basis.
*       Identify the project life cycle stages and the key inputs, outputs and 
dependencies
*       Develop a robust project charter to include clear project objectives, 
goals and deliverables
*       Manage project schedule by determining tasks, creating dependency 
diagrams and calculating the project duration
*       Track and report progress throughout the project life cycle
*       Manage systematic project closure and conduction post-implementation 
review
*       Documenting project and personal lessons learned
*       Assist with consolidating financial and human resources will help the 
project director manage the budget and staff effectively
*       Monitor performance, providing feedback on performance and completing 
appropriate documentation.  Ensure procedures and internal organization 
protocols are followed including change control processes and communication 
with the Project Management Office (PMO).
*       Provide reports on day-to-day activities and related statistics for 
management review as requested.  Actively participate in project technical 
planning and ensure quality of productivity
*       Recognize and practice the leadership skills needed to run a motivated 
team
*       Perform risk management and issue resolution.  Coordinate with other 
work groups and departments on related project tasks.  Building and managing 
team effectiveness and effectively matching resources to project tasks
*       Provide leadership, building ownership, motivation and commitment 
across the team
*       Familiarity with wireless LAN access points and controllers, WiFi 
technologies, 802.11 standards, Cisco Network equipment is a plus!
*       Familiarity with Systems environments including Microsoft active 
directory, server’s deployment and Window domains is a plus!
*       Familiarity with software development project management techniques is 
a plus!
