*Hope you are doing well…* *please kindly give reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is my direct client opening for a Manufacturing / Process Development Engineer - Machining - San Diego, CA. This is a long Term Contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE. There is a significant need within our portfolio company for an individual responsible for product / process development by either (1) receiving, digesting and effectively duplicating an OEM customer provided process or (2) adapting the process in terms of DFM to the Company's capabilities. The consultant would coordinate and direct process development, process improvement and manufacturing activities and interface as necessary with production employees, supervisors, engineers, management, vendors and customers to complete assignments. The consultant would be asked to seek an optimum balance between process robustness, process cost and product quality. *Other duties of the consultant (s) would include: * Provide technical input to estimated/quoting process Establish, proof and transition to production the necessary tooling, equipment, manufacturing and verification methods to create and maintain capable and robust production processes Provide expert technical assistance and on-the-job training to the production employees and supervisors, and ensure all work is performed in an expeditious, complete and cost effective manner Develop and implement process improvement plans based on cost, quality and delivery needs Identify and order material, tooling and equipment necessary to support manufacturing operations Recommend new equipment when justified by quality and/or cost benefits. Seek optimum balance between the value of the tooling inventory and development cycle time *The consultant (s) should possess the following qualifications: * A minimum of five years of developing and implementing tooling and processes in a precision production machine shop environment Direct experience with precision CNC machining processes on 4 and 5 axis mills and multi-axis CNC lathes A proven track record in project manufacturing and process engineering Wire EDM experience is highly desirable with medical products / components experience Additional experience in engineering and/or manufacturing in metals fabrication is also useful Ability to function as a key contributor and facilitator in a dynamic job shop environment to digest, assess and translate customer requirements into tools, fixtures and processes to meet customer requirements *Please complete the following skills-matrix and send back with your updated resume. * Full Name: Degree Major: Total Manufacturing / Process Development experience: Total experience in a precision production machine shop environment: Total experience with precision CNC machining processes on 4 and 5 axis mills and multi-axis CNC lathes: Total experience in project manufacturing and process engineering: Hourly Rate: Whether is it C2C/1099/W2?
