ITIL Project Manager Madison, WI Contract through 6/30/2009 ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) is a documented set of Best Practices based on process integration and improvement for the implementation and management of IT Services. ITIL provides a framework that is non-proprietary in nature and has widespread adoption worldwide. We have been working for the past two years on designing and implementing some of the support processes defined in the ITIL framework. However, the project has not made significant progress in the integration of Service Delivery processes due to the lack of dedicated project management. We do not have anyone in-house who has both strong project management skills and experience in ITIL process planning and implementation. Service Delivery consists of Asset Management, Service Level Management, Financial Management, Capacity Management, Continuity and Availability Management. All of these processes have inputs and outputs to each other, as well as external inputs/outputs and relationships with change, release, incident and configuration management. We need a highly skilled ITIL implementation manager to get traction in this area to complete process designs and implementations. Administration - Project Management Experience in ITIL version 2 process planning and implementation : Expert with 3+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) Project Management : 8+ years experience Project plan development : Expert with 8+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) General Competencies Analytical/problem solving skills : 5+ years experience Awareness of IT infrastructure : Moderately Strong with 5+ years experience (Scale of skills: 3/5) Coaching : Expert with 8+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) Excellent Communication Skills: Expert with 8+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) Excellent oral and written communication skills: Expert with 8+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) Facilitation: Expert with 8+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) PMI or other relevant certifications * Yes Information Technology - Design Flow charting processes: Expert with 5+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) Standardized process and procedures development: Expert with 8+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) Standardized processes and procedures implementation: Expert with 8+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5). Information Technology - Requirements Documenting business processes: Expert with 8+ years experience (Scale of skills: 5/5) The contractor will be required to provide the following deliverables: 1. A complete workflow analysis of a sampling of our services to identify each of the ITIL process areas touched as a request for service enters us and follows its lifecycle. 2. A documented roadmap defining key areas that need immediate attention and next steps for short term and long term implementation. 3. Work with each of the process managers to create a detailed project plan for the design, development and implementation of their processes. Processes included: Release, Asset, Service Level, Financial, Capacity, Availability and Continuity. 4. Full implementation of 2-3 key processes in the next fiscal year. The contractor will be measured by the completion of each of these deliverables. 5. Knowledge transfer of each of the process components to the process owners and process managers. The work of designing and implementing ITIL processes is not currently one of our core skillsets. However, it is planned that the management and maintenance of these processes will be transferred from the contractor to employees, so the ITIL processes will become one of our core skillsets.
