Database Administrator Job Description * Monitor systems and platforms for availability. * Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover * Restore and recover corrupted databases * Install and test upgrades and patches * Implement security and encryption * Provide 24/7 support for critical situations * Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions * Develop database utilities and automated reporting * Create shell scripts for task automation * Create, test and execute data management languages * Evaluate and recommend new database technologies * Set up data sharing and disk partitioning * Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements * Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency * Design and document database architecture. Data Modeling. * Design Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform Required Skills * Oracle, MySQL * building, upgrading, patching, backing up and restoring databases * replication and other high availability/disaster recovery techniques * partitioning, database tuning, SQL tuning, RMAN, OID * shell and Perl scripting, HTML * Strong problem solving skills * Strong technical and analytical skills * Strong communication skills * Motivated and a quick learner * Team player capable of working in a close knit team * Self-starter willing to take ownership of applications * Ability to multitask and manage time effectively Required Experience * Bachelors Degree or above, or equivalent work experience * Minimum 2 years experience in Oracle database administration Thank you, DBA FYI Center http://dba.fyicenter.com/
