Title: C++/ C# Software Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 3-6 Months Contract.
Description
We are searching for a Visual C++ / C# .NET software engineer with at
least 3 years experience in each language. Developer will be working on a
short term project to enhance a legacy system. The ideal candidate will
possess good technical and problem solving skills, positive attitude, strong
communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member. Experience
in Agile development is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance backend server processes that process high
volumes of real time data and populate various databases as well as full
text indexing engines.
- Provide timely and accurate communication of work status to project
leaders in oral and written formats.
- Design, code and test according to requirements and design
specifications.
- Seek out and share technical knowledge with other developers across
the organization.
- Provide technical support, release information and integration
assistance to GSI operations.
- Participate as a team member and assist other team members where
needed.
Qualifications
1. BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of Windows application development experience.
3. Minimum 3 years of Visual C++ experience.
4. Minimum 3 years of C# .NET experience.
5. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
6. Experience with HTML, XML, DHTML and JavaScript is a plus.
7. Demonstrated problem solving, design, and unit testing skills, with
ability to pay attention to details.
8. Ability to troubleshoot and debug code at both the technical and
application level.
9. Strong oral and written communication skills
10. Ability to work effectively in a team environment to deliver
results with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities.
