Position: Embedded Software Engineer - General 3-5 yrs experience Location: Van Buren Township,MI Duration: 6 Months Rate : Open Must be local. Must be US Citizens or GC's. Job Description: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead or work with the software subsystem engineers to develop and deliver multiple HMI software solutions to Instrument Clusters, Audio Head Units, Infotainment Head Units and Connectivity Product Lines. • Responsible for keeping individual software plan up to date, including proactively managing dependencies and risks. Responsible to report individual and team progress / issues to project team and software management. • Accountable for delivering to a schedule and meeting customer deliverables on time with desired scope and quality. • Responsible for continuously improving software subsystems towards model-based design and auto-code generation. • Respond to customer software issues in a professional and timely manner. • Work with HMI Global Software Teams in Europe and Asia in supporting regional HMI Software Development EXPERIENCE: 2+ years experience in developing HMI software for real-time, embedded systems in an automotive environment DEGREE: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent. DESIRED COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of software algorithm modeling and auto-code generation Working knowledge of real-time, embedded software, C and Assembly programming Working knowledge of software processes and formal software methodologies Highly Desired – experience with Matlab, Simulink/Stateflow, Altia, Graphical Programming Primitives, Bitmap Image Editing tools such as Paintshop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Font formats. Desired – experience with TeamCenter Systems Engineering, ClearCase/ClearQuest (Configuration Management and Defect Management tools) Desired – knowledge of in-vehicle networks (CAN) and diagnostic protocols Strong leadership skills with ability to mentor and motivate team members Self starter, highly motivated and with a positive attitude Ability to work well and with multi-functional global Product Development teams and strong verbal and written communication skills SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (i.e. Overtime, Travel, etc.): Local travel to customer sites as needed.
