fwiw, a "real world" anecdote:
What we have been finding out in the middle of a nightmare
LAN upgrade is that old p1/233 (originally win95) machines
start croaking like a pond full of horny bullfrogs when new
software (win98) is installed.
Amazingly, when we buy new hardware (pIII/700mhz), things
work a *lot* better.
Next year's great adventure will be installing "whistler".
I can't wait (sarcasm).
