With a volume manager, increasing the size of a raw partition is easy.

(Not that I endorse the idea of changing the sizes of datafiles. On the
contrary, I am of the opinion that all datafiles should be uniformly sized. See
http://www.ixora.com.au/tips/creation/datafiles.htm for my thoughts on that.)
