Don,
I thought a synonym would work, but then I tried it:
-----------
create or replace package myp
as
function my_func return date;
end;
/
create or replace package body myp
as
function my_func return date
is
begin
return sysdate;
end;
end;
/
create synonym testfunc for myp.my_func;
select testfunc from dual;
select myp.my_func from dual;
------------------
The first SELECT statement fails, but the second one works.
It doesn't appear that this can be done. Synonyms for packages
work, but this is the first time if tried to use synonym to reference
a function or procedure inside a package.
Anyone else?
Jared
P.S. You're still with teleport? Their customer service has been
pretty bad since they were bought out. I jumped ship.
