OS System time used
btw, it's flavor-dependent...somes OS'es have ALOT!

This timed_os_statistics has potential, esp. if we can then monitor info
similar to Performance Monitor or snmp from within Oracle stats.
More views means more CPU drain though, I suspect.

Does anyone know what this does? Sounds tantalizing.
I tried to set it in my initSID.ora file, but Oracle8.1.7. says it
does not
understand that parameter name.
It shows up when I ask the rdbms for parameter values, though.
prompt Global Parameter Values
