Srinivas,
You nearly had it. You just need to wrap each decode with a SUM (the same
technique used to "rotate" a table except you are doing division instead of
displaying each column):
select
sum(decode(name,'physical reads',value)) /
sum(decode(name,'db block gets',value))
from
v$sysstat
where
name in ('db block gets','physical reads')
