man iostat 
while you're there, checkout:
man vmstat

Windoze 2000:
I think they have something called "Performance
Monitor" in 2000. From what I hear, it isn't helpful.
I think they are trying to resolve the constant system
crashes before they concentrate on "small" things,
such as disk I/O.  ;)
