Can you see optimizer going nuts.... so when we tested CBO, this schema owner exclaimed 'CBO doesn't work!', so we were back to using RBO. I have finally convinced them to stop creating a 'create view v_tablename as select * from tablename' ... that was my first step. So, I have nothing against views, but only when used in moderation.
