Title: RE: set command
Paula,
TRIMSPOOL will only remove the trailing characters in an output file. Normally, the output is padded with blanks up to the length defined by LINESIZE. I don't think TRIMSPOOL will help, but I could be wrong.

How long is the command you are trying to output? What is the setting for WRAP?

set linesize alone doesn't help - but will try it with set trimspool

Oracle doesn't place anything. SQL*Plus does.
If you generate scripts from SQL*Plus:
set linesize ...

Guys,

Building scripts from SQL generating SQL in Oracle on Unix.  I know that there are set commands so that Oracle does not put CR or LF in the middle of a long command.  Does anyone know these off the top of their head?

Thanks,
Paula
