I think the number is still being stored as 1111111111, but only being
displayed in E notation. When I try it I get:
scott> select * from trnid;
TRN_ID
----------
111111111
111111111
1111111111
1111111111
Elapsed: 00:00:00.00
scott>
I entered both as a number 111111111 and a character string '111111111',
like you did.
Have you specified a format for the trn_id column?

can anyone tell why the number(10) is stored in exp format
