Jay, I had a problem with a full export of a database because all of the items were not present. They were not activated but the export script expected the references to them to be present. This is how the problem came about; OS OpenVMS 7.3-1 Oracle 8.1.7 rel3 first instance created during oracle install with the oracleins. first instance up and running. create second instance with oracleins and the catalog and catrep were not instructed to be run. Full export failed looking for the references created but the initial run of catproc.(sys.dbsm_repcat_rgt_exp)
The problem was fixed by running the catalog and carrepc. The upgrade info for upgrading from 8.1.7 to 8.1.7.4 now state that you have to run the catalog and catrep. even if you do not use replication.
