Joseph. I prefer to exp/imp when possible. You get a chance to change anything you like. With 8.0.5, you may have to upgrade in two steps. You could test the exp/imp on your test system and get an idea of how much system downtime your users would experience. Then ask them if that would be acceptable. I think either route would work fine.
