Might the reason be the total cost to the employer? Differences in the full coverage 
of health insurance and any 'social benefits' such as education cost and generally 
speaking the cost of living and the 'feeling-comfortable-here' factor make comparisons 
tricky. As much as saying that SQL Server is cheaper than Oracle.
