Paula, Try to mount the auxillary database manually, and see what error you get. That might help point you in the right direction in solving the problem. probably 70% of the time it's an issue with the configuration of the aux database (e.g. parameter set wrong, etc...). Manual startup will show you if that is the case most of the time.
