Mladen, you old respected warrior.... you're wrong, I'm sad to inform you.

Another way to get to Tim's place is this:

Go to http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/content.html
Hit Price lists on the left hand side.
Hit US Commercial Price List

Undskyld.

There have been no changes - none - to the pricing structure of this.

Um... I'd definitely get that in writing... I just looked at the oracle
store and it looks like partitioning is still an extra cost item... I also
checked the price guide...

http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/ePLext.PDF

This also listed partitioning as an "Enterprise Edition Option"...

My dear friend, you're wrong. That practice has stopped with 8i. Partitioning option *is* an integral part of 9iEE without an additional check to sign. I got a verbal confirmation from my oracle sales rep and I'll try getting a written (email) one as well.

I've seen the same kind of confusion with respect to the partitioning option, where people have been informed by their sales rep that partitioning option is part of EE. Well, yes, if you pay extra for it.

If the question is about price [referring to oraclestore], remember
that RAC
is an option and is generally at a 50% premium on the EE cost.

However, Mladen is right in that RAC is on the same CDs as the
Enterprise Edition.
If your servers are cluster-ready, the OUI automatically

includes RAC as

an installation option, else, RAC does not apear in the Oracle product list
when you run the Installer.
