Since I agreed with Mladen that it wouldn't work, I just had to test this.On 8.1.7.3 on OpenVMS the "deallocate unused keep # " shrinks the initial extent.It shrank a test table from 1m to 8k. I'm not sure why it chose 8k.(db_block_size=4k, default initial_extent for the tablespace=64k)I assume it would work on SYS tables as well.(No sacrificial database that I'm willing to try it on.)Nelson
