Data Modeler (Consultant) Job Description Location NY The Data Analyst/Modeler will analyze business requirements, perform the necessary analysis to translate them to data requirements, develop enterprise data models at the conceptual, logical, and physical levels; identify and promote best practices and patterns for data modeling, and provide oversight for data modeling methodologies and processes. Responsibilities include n Analyze and translate business requirements into data models - including definition of logical and physical models, model enhancements, metadata maintenance. n Interface with business analysts and application developers across multiple business domains including credit and market risk management n Create and evolve models for counterparties, financial instruments, positions and exposures, to meet new and changing business requirements n Perform complex data analysis and recognize patterns to help with Data Modeling or R&D projects with quick time-to-market requirements n Manage flow of information between departments through the use of relational databases. n Focus on reducing process and data inefficiencies such as reducing data redundancy within an existing system or optimizing load and query performance. Technical Requirements n Bachelors in Computer Science or related field n 3+ years of demonstrable experience with relational database modeling and reporting using ERWin Data Modeler/ Model Mart. n Knowledge of reporting and ETL technologies/methods, including Data warehouses, operational data stores, data marts, star and snow-flake schemas n 5+ years of demonstrable experience working with Databases such as Oracle, SQL Server databases in the minimum; n Excellent SQL skills to perform complex data analysis for data modeling, adhoc requirements, performance tuning etc n 3+ years of demonstrable experience working on projects related to either financial or insurance industry (Risk Management is a plus) n Proficient in using MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio n Knowledge of Extensible Markup Language (XML) schema modeling is a plus General Requirements n Proficient knowledge of financial Industry (Knowledge of Insurance and Risk Management is a plus) n Excellent communication skills, quick learner n Can operate in an independent, self starter manner, as well as in a team setting n Deadline driven, with an ability to work under pressure ** * Regards Sujeet aurionPro Solutions, Inc.
