Maintain functionality of these tools. Analyze and report abnormal findings immediately to DataCom manager and staff with recommendations. • Identify and assist with ongoing training (knowledge transfer) required for DataCom staff in regards to LAN/ WAN network optimization. Make recommendations as needed. • Develop and maintain necessary documentation, including procedures. • Provide technical proposal reviews and document comments as required • Provide technical support and guidance to DataCom Manager, DataCom staff, and act as technical specialist to DataCom customers. • Assist with design, implementation, testing, and issue resolution regarding LAN/WAN components. • Provide network diagrams and appropriate documentation identifying the physical and logical network paths and connections. • Provide a migration strategy to minimize or alleviate risk, where appropriate. The incumbent must have a minimum 5 years of experience providing the services above and possess the following technical certifications: • Cisco CCNA • Cisco CCDA • Cisco CCDP • Cisco CCNP 2) Title: Disaster Recovery (DR) Consultant Location: Sacramento, CA Local candidates Duration:6+ Months Rate: $70 _______________________________________________________ PROJECT SCOPE/TASKS The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks: • Coordinate with CalPERS’ DataCom Manager to provide recommendations to update and validate the current Disaster Recovery Plan in relationship to the CalPERS’ network augmentation and DR WAN design. • Assist CalPERS with day-to-day management of the DR WAN design, implementation, and maintenance; and attend DR planning sessions as required. Participate in department-wide DR tests and DataCom testing as necessary. Assist in network maintenance as needed. • Provide liaison support to the DataCom Manager and staff with WAN carrier, service providers, and CalPERS internal organizations. • Monitor DR WAN traffic, utilizing existing monitoring tools. Report abnormal findings immediately to DataCom manager and staff. • Identify and assist with ongoing training (knowledge transfer) required for DataCom staff in regards to DR WAN network optimization. Make recommendations as needed. • Provide design services for enhancements to the disaster recovery network and service provider network options. • Provide procedures, network diagrams, flow charts and appropriate documentation identifying the physical and logical network paths and connections. • Provide a mitigation process for primary network outages and recovery to minimize or alleviate risk, where applicable; monitor and test as specified by the plan.
