Ok, you need a fast connection either of these:  The cable modem or
the dsl system as provided by your telephone company.  Slow speed
systems such as 33.6 modems are not supported by freeworlddialup.com.
They have no plan to support these, according to their information on
the web site.  I don't know why.  

Yes, 33.6 modems will work, and I think that the standard
configuration file that comes up when you start linphone for the first
time should work, but you have to contact the other machine directly
across the network.  

However, you can try out freeworlddialup.com with my linphonec
configuration file.  I will include it here.

This is the configuration I use with this broadband connection.  You
can try it and see if linphonec will tell you that you have
successfully registered on freeworlddialup.com.  Please tell me if
this works.  I don't know what their problem is when it comes to
supporting a wider range of connection speeds.  I don't have the
equipment here or I would do it for anyone who needs this kind of
support.
