Hi, All,

Your BIOS doesn't support booting from cd-rom, or it is so buggy that it
cannot boot an eltorito boot cd? Well...
Just install the following two packages: "sbm" and "bmconf".
The sbm (smart boot manager) can imitate the boot function of bios so it
can replace buggy (or absent) boot function.
The bmconf is installer and configurator for sbm.
First of all, your bios should be configured to boot from a
floppy, then you should take a floppy disk, !!Warning!! all data on this
floppy will be lost! Also, you'll be able to use this floppy only for
booting. to install on the floppy the sbm configured to boot a cd, If
you have just one cd-rom drive and your floppy is /dev/fd0, then this
command is for you:

bmconf --install ru --device /dev/fd0 --noautoscan --add
cdrom=0,name=oralux --list

For detail description of all parameters, see man pages of "sbminst" and
"bmconf".
Then to boot from a cd: insert a bootable cd, insert the prepared floppy
and reboot your machine. When you here that the diskette has been read
just press enter and booting from the cd starts.

I propose to include this utilities compiled for dos/windows with detail
instructions of using, in oralux cd.
Or just an image of such prepared diskette.

p.s.
This method was tested even on a i486 DX4 (cpu 100 MHz)

Good luck

Roma, out
