No problem. Actually, I did a little more experimentation and came to
a slightly modified conclusion:

Meanwhile, it looks like this is something that changed between SAX
some (12?) months ago and SAX now, since the Crimson parser apparently
uses NamespaceSupport internally in a way that used to work but now
triggers the exception. Given that it's likely to be different in
different environments, it makes sense to just avoid the
NamespaceSupport class going forward.
