One of the things that we've strived for is to have the underlying ORM be an implementation detail of the Orchard framework, so that you don't really need to learn the ORM anyway. Hopefully this also gives us some flexibility down the road to consider alternative data stacks if the future as our needs may change, without breaking modules developed on the Orchard framework alone.
